Our dream for the Regional Centre for Pets and People is a 19,000+ square foot building on 5 acres of land we currently own on Sanford Fleming Drive in Collingwood.
The Regional Centre for Pets and People will serve as a vibrant community hub – a place that fosters youth engagement and family connections, offers vital support and services for our furry friends, imparts new skills, promotes service to others, nurtures the human-animal bond, and strengthens our community relationships.
The Centre will embody inclusivity, offering an environment where both people and animals can thrive. It will exemplify a sustainable and compassionate approach to care, integrating the precision of medical standards, the educational spirit to foster lifelong learning, and the inviting charm of a beloved community hub.
Annually, this new facility will:
Welcome 30,000 Visitors
By opening our doors wide, we will boost adoptions and shorten the time pets spend in our care. The more we connect, the quicker our furry friends find their new loving homes.
Employ 600 Volunteers and 50 Staff
Doubling our team means each animal gets more personal attention and playtime. This enhanced care helps our pets thrive and boosts their chances of finding loving families.
Provide over 6,700 Spay/Neuter Surgeries
Our commitment to these vital procedures prevents health and behavioural issues, curbs the number of pets needing shelter, and creates more space for other animals in need.
Engage over 6,000 youth in meaningful programming
Through workshops, tours, and hands-on activities promoting the human-animal bond, we will nurture compassion and empathy, building character and encouraging young people to become active, caring community members.
Foster hope during crisis to over 2,200 people
We will provide stability and support to those facing tough times, ensuring they have the resources they need to navigate through challenges.
Shelter over 5,500 animals
We will offer protection, safety, nutrition, and care to every animal, giving them the socialization and rehabilitation they need to be ready for their next adventure.
